Storyline
Bubbly young bride Claudia (Dorothy McGuire) and her more relaxed architect husband, David (Robert Young), settle in small-town Connecticut after leaving Manhattan. Claudia’s irrepressible curiosity gets the couple in a number of sometimes awkward situations with their new neighbors, due largely to her tendency to listen in on their party-line telephone. But when that bad habit reveals shocking news about her own mother (Ina Claire), Claudia faces adulthood for the first time.
